PTC Award Descriptions

AOM  PTC Scholar Practice Impact Award seeks to recognize and celebrate an outstanding scholar who has made a major contribution to research and theory in practice based studies, and has had an impact on managerial and organizational practices. The nominee should have a track record of quality publications (journals and books), and preferably have also published in practitioner journals (e.g. Academy of Management Perspectives) and other relevant practitioner outlets, as well as have had an impact on policy making and management practice.

AOM PTC Chris Argyris Lifetime Career Award identifies a person the PTC executive team believe has made a long and lasting contribution to ensuring scholarly work makes a contribution to practice. As such it is not an annual award, and so only offered as a special recognition of such people.

The PTC Research Center Impact Award aims to recognize the contribution that research centers make to the practice of management in the public, private, and/or third sectors. Research Centers must specifically demonstrate how knowledge gained through the research and programs conducted by the centers have made an impact to management practice. The PTC Research Centre Impact Award is designed to promote the AOM’s strategic intent of professional impact. The awards seeks to recognize and celebrate an outstanding research project or group of projects conducted either independently or in collaboration with industry that has had a major impact on management practice (be it in private, government, non-government sectors).
